A new e-Series unit designed for tight access, faster installs, and flexible piping choices.
Nyle Water Heating Systems is announcing Velo, a new air-source heat pump water heater in Nyle’s cold-climate e-Series lineup. Velo is designed for real-world commercial projects, where access is limited and mechanical rooms are tight. The unit comes factory-assembled, fits through a standard 36-inch doorway, and in a freight elevator. This design means fewer steps are needed onsite for installation.
Velo is also a monobloc unit with water-side connections only, so teams can avoid field refrigerant piping and keep installs straightforward.
No swing tanks required
Velo supports single-pass, multi-pass, and single-pass return-to-primary layouts.
For those new to the term, return-to-primary means this: don’t treat hot-water recirculation as a separate “mini system” with its own tank. Instead, route the recirculation back to the primary storage. Then, the main heat pump plant can reheat it as part of the primary system. This can reduce clutter in the mechanical room and lower the need for swing tanks and extra temperature-maintenance equipment, saving cost.
Flexible install, with serviceability in mind
Velo’s modular form supports side-by-side installation for added capacity in limited floor space, all while being fully ductable. This kind of flexibility makes it ideal for retrofits and new construction alike.
“Velo is built for real-life buildings and their challenges.” said Chris Ebener, President of Nyle Water Heating Systems. “It fits through the door, installs fast, and gives teams more options to simplify commercial DHW layouts.”
Cold-climate design for indoor or outdoor placement
Built on the proven e-Series platform (used in the Nyle e360), Velo delivers hot water even in temperatures as low as 10°F. It has a 1000-hour salt spray rating, making it suitable for tough weather, indoors and out.
Built to fit where projects get stuck
Retrofit access is often the biggest constraint. Velo’s compact form factor helps teams move equipment through standard building routes, with no cranes and no onsite assembly required. It can even be moved by a pallet jack. Should rigging be needed, the Velo has top lifts points to make it easier.
